Krill oil contains EPA and DHA in a ratio of 1.8 : 1. EPA and DHA are fatty acids that are essential to good health, a fact that is being supported by scientific research on krill and fish oil.
In a 28 day pilot study involving 17 healthy volunteers aged between 18-36, blood was analyzed before and afer supplementation. The results were interesting and the researchers concluded that Krill oil supplementation decreased the markers we associate with cardiovascular disease like plasma triglycerides and VLDL (very-low density lipoprotein).
